Dixie has found her forever home.
Anne is a 3rd year vet student from New Orleans, She knew she had found the little black dog she had been looking for on petfinder. The only thing was they were several hours apart. With determination, she got all the paperwork in order and was granted the adoption. Travel arrangments were made and on June 20th, each party traveled 3 1/2 hours to meet. Kellie has a new name, Nola (which stands for New Orleans LA) and a new home. Congratulation Anne and Nola!
Missy really needed a home and someone to love her . She had been living in the back of Kelly's Restaurant for about 2 weeks. She finally has a home. Ms. V @ Kelleys deserves a blue ribbon! A man on Stringtown road, that Ms. V. knows well, has a fenced in yard and took her in! Missy got right into his truck and Ms. V gave her a big bone for the trip! Thank you Ms. V for your love and concern!

UPDATE: Here is an update on PattiCake who was adopted in Feb 2009. She is such a joy and sweet sweet as pie. We love her sooo much and can't imagine life with out her! She gets along with all and loves her kid .. Kade! Here is a pic of them after a long afternoon at play .. it's just too cute! She will be getting spayed this Monday (July 13). Can you believe how big she is getting? We still can't figure out what breed mix she is .. we used to think some Pit/Terrier mix but now she is looking like a white German Shepherd mix. What do you think? I can't remember what her Mom was .. do you? I would really like to know if you can remember. Thank you for doing what you do and for allowing her to come in our lives. She is so full of herself which makes for cheap entertainment .. and such a part of our Family. My son just recently learned how to ride his bike and we go on regular family bike rides and take PattiCake with us .. She Loves It! She is a very very Good Girl! She is Exactly what we wanted and Needed!!!!!

Earl, a very playful and sweet little boy, has been adopted. He is a lab mix and was about 9 weeks old, when HSD took custody of him. We are so happy he now has a forever family.

DAVID HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!! Eddie is thrilled to have a pet in his life again, since he has no one but David to shower with his love and attention. They are a perfect match as you can see. Eddie was impressed that David could walk on a leash and knew what sit was. Eddie said they would continue with David's learning after the adjustment period.
David and Lindsey saw Neka on Petfinder and decided to inquire about her. A HSD officer and Lindsey emailed daily for 6 days, getting the paperwork done, approved and travel arrangments made. Saturday July 18th Neka's hope came true, she took a road trip to her new family. Congratulations David, Lindsey and Neka. Thank you for opening your hearts and home to our precious Neka.

When Daisy met her new family, it was love at first site. Daisy is a beagle mix with the sweetest disposition. She is very smart and her tail wags constantly. Daisy found her way into our hearts and now has the heart of her new family.
